Don’t Come This Far, To Only Come This Far!
Women love transformation.
Whether it’s in the realm of appearance, home décor or our relationships womenlove the innate nature of metamorphosis. As women we often heed towards aesthetics. Color, shape, flowers, scents, tone of voice, bubbly feelings and constant thoughts of…
Ideally, Christian women envision an equally yoked marriage, a house nestled in the Suburbs of Long Island, N.Y, fish in a tank and no diapers nor kids for at least 3 years!
Okay, that sounds a lot like my vision, but with simple manipulation and added specks my vision quickly shifts into your vision.
In the Christian faith, however, transformation does not solely involve glitter, gold and chocolates. Often times as Christians we are exposed to the inner depths of our brokenness, times of distress, doubt, and alienation from God with a scarce image of a desert or wilderness. .
The wilderness is where water is limited where a traveler walks alone in the heat and the cold without the luxury of shade or protection where animals roam freely. In a spiritual wilderness God feels as if He is without reach, distant, absent, and unresponsive… faith feels doubtful or uncertain, we feel alone, vulnerable, lost, and unprotected and there is the fear of hopelessness and the unknown.
How can you envision, vision in the wilderness?
“For You have tried us, O God; You have refined us as silver is refined. You brought us into the net; You laid an oppressive burden upon our loins. You made men ride over our heads; We went through fire and through water, Yet You brought us out into a place of abundance.”
The wilderness is a time in which the Lord is refining us. He is turning that diamond in a rough into one of appraisal. He is taking your brokenness and making shape.
The Lord is the closest during times of refinement. That is where the Lord engulfs you in His hands and intricately molds you and transforms you into the woman He desires you to become.
As 2016 progresses, time may feel as if it is not moving. Life seems as if it is at a standstill and the loudest noise is not the voice of God, but of your own mind. Telling you how inadequate you are in your abilities, talents, faith and opportunities.
Choose to speak abundance, harmony, serenity and life into your situation. The Holy Spirit prompted me start a vision board despite my feelings and emotions. The vision board includes Gods word and specific promises and goals that the Lord has gave me for this year.
Continue to speak Gods promises into your heart. Even if it seems as if Satan is the closest to you.
“The only thing worse than being blind is having sight and no vision.”
“I am in the midst of spiritual wilderness. In my drought I have been watering my soul with Gods truth through Christian books that the Lord uses to speak life into my quenched soul and situation which brings forth a wealth of clarity and vision.” Williams said.
